"The City of God" by St. Augustine. This is an excellent translation. I finished volume one a few weeks ago and just started volume two.

Russell Chatham's Silent Seasons - 21Fishing Adventures by 7 American Experts. I was perusing the sporting titles today in a local used bookshop when I came across this gem. Turns out that is is a first edition, and signed by Mr. Chatham (who passed in 2018 at the age of 80).

The sun doesn't shine on this old dog's rear end too long or too often, but it did today!

Great book from this prolific painter and writer.
Harmon Henkin's essay about trading is a favorite! Hilarious.
Another book, Dark Waters, of Chatham's own essays , is a great companion to this. Enjoy!!

I recently read The Game - Inside the Secret World of Major League Baseball’s Power Brokers by Jon Pessah. It is an excellent history of the economics of baseball and the dynamic between the players union and ownership. Great history of former commissioner Bud Selig as well. Plenty of Brewers and Yankees history as well. Excellent book.
