H is for Hawk, The true tale of a girl training a Goshawk and how it helped her deal with the loss of her father.

Smoking Peterson Xmas 2013 blend, I like it but it gives me a sore throat for some reason.

I'm reading Marc Munroe Dion's book MILL RIVER SMOKE on my iPad and I highly, highly recommend it to all of my fellow pipe smokers, hell it's just good writing period, but he weaves pipes into every short story which enhances the work even more! For those who are thinking Dion's name sounds familiar, he is a regular contributor to The Pipe Collector, NASPC's newsletter.

Wellington's Men, W. H. Fitchett 3Star Blue in a meer to be followed by, I think, Balkan Supreme, also in a meer. No decision on the last bowl of the evening. Oh, there will be one more glass of port before I slip into my Dr. Denton's and pad off to bed.

A well-read group here. It does my heart proud. I'm currently reading, among some others, Winter's Bone (also a terrific film) while smoking the second Vampire's Wand (a Downey creation) with Trout Stream.

I recently started reading Edward Abbey's ''the monkeywrench gang''. I really love reading Abbey. Naturalist, environmentalist and possibly Darwinist he has a great hand with writing both poetically and at the same time straightforward and amusing. Have any of you read Abbey?

My favorites are desert solitaire and over the wall
