Kitty Wells had a huge following in the 40's and 50's. She has a nasally voice which doesn't translate well for most people, but she produced some gorgeous music. Her most famous record was probably "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels". She was first person hold the unofficial title of "The Queen of Country Music".

5/5

"As I sit here tonight, the jukebox's playing
The tune about the wild side of life
As I listen to the words you are saying
It brings memories when I was a trusting wife

It wasn't God who made honky-tonk angels
As you said in the words of your song
Too many times married men think they're still single
That has caused many a good girl to go wrong"
