Nothing. Downside of being married to a woman who doesn't enjoy loud sounds, and having all my audio equipments in form of portable. Wife, I can understand. She went through years of my bagpipes playing. But portable audio equipments, they need batteries recharged. We need someone to invent permanent batteries that never deplete, and never need charging. Some might say that's anti-capitalism, but imagine everything running on never needed to recharge batteries. More things will depend on batteries, and more new equipments will be developed. Battery manufacturing would be the king. Other than cars. I still like the gasoline fumes.

Guy Mitchell had a number of hit records in the 1950's including "Heartaches by the Number", "Rock-a-Billy", and "Singing the Blues". The last song became his signature song.

4/5

"Well, I never felt more like singin' the blues
'Cause I never thought that I'd ever lose
Your love dear, why'd you do me this way?
Well, I never felt more like cryin' all night
'Cause everythin's wrong, and nothin' ain't right
Without you, you got me singin' the blues."

[Above, my emphasis]

It would be for a few years until every one in the world had those batteries, then it'd go out of business. :)

But, seriously, a noise cancelling head phone set- or even ear buds- might make your life more pleasant....

Yupe. I use IEM ( In Ear Monitor). Basically, they have tip that will go deep inside the ear to block almost everything out. More immersive listening. Good ones are just fantastic.

Clifford Brown was hot. I don't play trumpet (tried for few months in highschool), but recognize virtuosity when I hear it. Ability to keep time, fast precise finger movement, ability to bend note without missing the beat. Being a piper, was known for my fast fingers and ability to do Scotch snap like nobody else. He's killing it in A Night At Birdland.

For some reason I always like Perry Como. In the 50's he appeared on the stations that were playing early rock'n'roll but he really could be defined as a crooner. He had a number of hits like "Round and Round", "Hot Diggity", and "Magic Moments".

5/5

"Find a wheel, and it goes 'round, 'round, 'round
As it skims along with a happy sound
As it goes, along the ground, ground, ground
'Til it leads you to the one you love

Then your love, will hold you 'round, 'round, 'round
And your heart's a song with a brand new sound
And your head, goes spinning 'round, 'round, 'round
'Cause you found what you've been dreaming of"
