Excellent choice! I’ve heard it said a frequent question is “are you Revolver or Rubber Soul?” I love them both, but if it were a desert island disc thing, it would be Rubber Soul. I am especially fond of the track What Goes On with Ringo’s lead vocal, and Harrison’s picking syncopation. An underrated track seldom heard. Crank it up! A favourite!

After listening to some more Monk last night, for a change of pace I played some of my Billy Cobham discs. I came upon him from his time with Miles Davis and after hearing some samples on Youtube I bought this boxset.
Some great tunes on here but one stands out above all the others and that is the second half of Stratus from the Album Spectrum. This, to me at least, has the perfect rhythm & beat and is blessed with some great guitar work from Tommy Bolin (RIP).

This lot arrived in the post yesterday. Rolling Stones Live At The Hampton Coliseum 1981.

Another jazzman that landed on my radar is a fellow called Coleman Hawkins.
His sax playing is something else and this 4 disc boxset is a great introduction to his unique style of playing, I'm so glad I found him.
