I took a punt on this double CD having only heard Paul Chambers and Leroy Vinnegar play with other musicians and it really paid off.

My favourite by far is the Doug Watkins album that features the flute & oboe of Yusef Lateef (who also appears on Paul Chambers' album playing sax & flute). Awesome stuff.

A bit of a mixed bag for me last night. First off was John McLaughlin's The Montreux Years which for those with an interest in such things is a 24 bit recording (standard is 16 bit) and I only wish it was longer, terrific stuff.

Next up was the Stones and their double disc set Hot Rocks where if I'm honest, only the second disc really interests me, the first is a bit meh.
