Last night was a bit of a mixed bag on the audio front. First off was Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon Live CD recorded at Wembley in 1974. In some ways it beats the original studio version, the bass of Roger Waters is much more prominent and the fuzz guitar of Gilmour, especially so on Money is a real delight.

Second up was a double disc set of Wes Montgomery, his guitar playing, along with that of Kenny Burrell is best played late at night with just a sidelight on and a fat tumbler of Scotch/bourbon/rum and me sat with my feet up.....glorious.

Was on the deck but had to move to the carport as the rain kicked off again (night 2). Got Colter Wall running on Spotify over Bluetooth while I finish the pipe I lit an hour back and continue reading the PMSS '23 thread...

Last night I had 2 new to me jazzmen doing their thing in my sitting room. First up was Canadian ivory tinkler Paul Bley. I'm vaguely familiar with his buddies Charles Mingus & Art Blakey but not the man himself. I do love the sound of the vibraphone but I keep thinking my doorbell has sounded" Anyway, these 2 discs were well received by me.

Second up was a chap called Wynton Kelly, another ivory tinkler. Amongst his sidemen are the fabulous Kenny Burrell & Paul Chambers and on one album the lovely sax of Wayne Shorter. This is one of 2 double CD sets I have of this guy, all excellent stuff.

For me, Beethoven and Johnny Cash. (I do wish Amy Weinhouse was still alive.)
