This was the exact video that (coinciding with my own guitar-learning journey) made me realize just how talented/underappreciated Prince actually was.. before this performance catalyzed me doing a dive into his other lesser-known material I literally thought he was just another Michael Jackson that couldn't dance as well... wow was I underinformed lol

There are definitely some people who way over-use the "they don't make them like they used to" phrase but man is it true here. The 70's/disco era was a definite high-water mark for production value of baseline pop-music. Between the liberal use of string and brass ensembles and the technology being at the point they could finally effectively record and mix so many tracks together, all still in analog... you get a sound of lush, velvet complexity that will probably never be duplicated again in popular culture... and few exemplified it better than the Brother's Gibb, imho..
