I’ve been exploring some “new to me” jazz. Have always enjoyed Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, Miles, Coltrane, Bill Evans, and Monk. Finally branching out and so far, have really latched on to Sonny Rollins and Bud Powell!
I've fallen into a Jazz black hole and can't get enough of it, listening to Bill Evans as I type this.

Definitely check out Bud Powell if you like Bill Evans. If you haven’t already heard it, The Quintet Live at Massey Hall is an absolute must listen. Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Max Roach, Bud Powell, and Charles Mingus. 5 jazz legends on stage together tearing it up!

When my sideman David and I performed with our guitars about fifteenish years ago, David was a single man and I was wildly head over heels crazy in love with my wife, who loved me right back more.

We played lots of crowds and met a lot of people. Each time I saw an attractive lady about our age in the crowd beside some old World War Two hero in his military baseball cap in a wheel chair, I would stand back and let David up front with his Martin HD28, while I crooned into the microphone Hank Snow style At Mail Call Today

I knew that old veteran had heard Axis Sally or Tokyo Rose play that and you could see the tears well up in him, and he’d be sure to introduce his little girl, to David.:)

Hank Snow was born Canadian but he’s one of the best American crooners.
