I'm enjoying Red Cravens & the Bray Brothers from the CD entitled 419 West Main. I Originally owned this on vinyl in the mid '70's. The mandolin work of Nate Bray is superb on this recording. Sadly, Nate pass away a year or two after this recording was made from an illness.

Today is Modest Mussorgsky's birthday (1893).
Here is an amazing scene from Act 4 of Boris Godunov (the prayer and death of Boris), in a 1956 Producer's Showcase television performance, with my father's life-long friend, basso Nicola Moscona as the monk Pimen and Boris Christoff as Godunov.
