With the passing of conductor James Levine, I am reminded of one of the greatest performances of "Si pel ciel" from Verdi' Otello, in a live clip from the 1983 At The Met.
Maestro Levine's precise control of the orchestra, and of the incredible voices of Placido Domingo and Sherrill Milnes, produce a stunning, hair-raising, and powerful interpretation.
May his memory be eternal.
