Professor Longhair's "Longhair's Stomp" (masterful key strokes) and other songs. "Fess" was the acknowledged godfather of New Orleans bawdy house piano. He taught Fats Domino and Hurt "Piano" Smith, and deeply influenced Dr. John, Ezra Charles, and many others.

Believe it or not, I was in a band from '07 to '09 that covered the hit from this album, Gypsy, two or three times. Surprisingly, someone was coherent enough to get a brief video clip of one of those times. That's me, on the Hammond organ, with hair much too long, muttonchops too far past the 70s, and too much THC in my bloodstream (well, enough that I barely remember this performance). Interestingly, I got married in this same backyard, some 10 years later. Life comes full circle, I guess!
