Back in late summer of 1990 I attended a bluegrass festival at Frontier Ranch, in Kirkersville, Ohio.
Late in the evening (right around midnite) Peter & Sammy played this song, in a somewhat "extended version".......... I swear it went for 20+ minutes as they traded licks back and forth....... it was mesmerizing!
Also met a young (19?) Alison Krauss there, my girlfriend bought her new CD, "I've got that old feeling"......... So sweet to talk to. Alison signed it too!
And finally, Peter Rowan had this big Teepee set up and was camping. In the evenings people would just sit around and pick, sing, and drink a few. I got to sit with Peter and chat for a while......such a great time.
9/1/2001 changed all that for the worse, but man, I miss those innocent days!...........
Isn't it strange, I mean when you feel artists (say singers, songwriters for example) somehow "close" to you (to your heart that is) in a way you want to call them by their first name, as they were relatives or friends?...
