The Animals - House of the Rising Sun
I always think of the ending of "Casino" when I hear this song. Brilliant marriage of amazing song and film.

I saw Pantera open for Wrath Child America in a bar in Raleigh. This was just before the release of Cowboys from Hell. I told a friend they were going to make it big. Of course the drummer for Wrath Child went on to help form God Smack.??I like them but I’m definitely more of a Pantera guy??
Mad Season - River of Deceit
Mad Season was an American rock supergroup[3] formed in 1994 as a side project of members of other bands in the Seattle grunge scene.[4] The band's principal members included guitarist Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, lead singer Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, drummer Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees and bassist John Baker Saunders. Mad Season released only one album, Above, in March 1995. Its first single, "River of Deceit", was a radio success, and Above was certified a gold record by the RIAA in June.

I agree, He was truly brilliant! So gifted vocally, so tragic, it’s really sad actually. He was plagued with emotional and drug issues. Think about all those guys that are gone now from that era..........Layne was such a brilliant singer and seemed like such a cool guy. Sad the way he went out?.
