I recently scoured the internet to find a copy of this album. It's called Gingerbreadd, and it's by Maury Muehleisen who played lead guitar on Jim Croce's albums and on stage. Maury wasn't really in the spotlight, but he was a huge influence on Jim's music, songwriting, and overall sound. They were a team, really. Maury died on the same plane crash in 1973 that killed Jim and several others, and it seems like this album that he put out three years earlier faded into obscurity for the most part. I've been listening to it on repeat all week, and I think this is my favorite song. The whole album is great, though.

Hopefully a new Bootleg Series to celebrate!
The sun is beginning to shine on me
But it’s not like the sun that used to be
The party’s over and there’s less and less to say
I got new eyes
Everything looks far away

When you mentioned this TOOM bootleg series before I got the impression it was confirmed...so is it just a rumor, or do you know anything more certain about it?

Gotta crank this one up.

I sure miss Tom...RIP my friend...sorry you had to go so soon.

Well my daddy took me campin'
Out under the stars
Left me by the fire
While he hit the bars
And I broke my finger
On a trailer hitch
Momma called daddy
A son of a bitch, all right

Well a hundred miles to go
You're draggin' your ass
You're in a Japanese car
It ain't gonna last
And you're forever drivin'
On the wrong side of the road
Wearing dungarees
That your momma stole

Well my momma loves me
But my daddy don't
I'm tryin' to work it all out
But I probably won't
I got a woman waiting
At the top of the stairs
It's the wrong thing to do
But I don't care

Well she was blond and tall
She was 23
Born into the world
To get the best of me
And she never paid back
Half what she stole
She wanted my money
So I gave her my soul

Well I was flying half mast
On the 4th of July
In a bar in Lake City
With a western tie
And I was thinkin' hard
About changin' my name
And headed for Miami
When the daylight came
