Actually, I decided to swap the rum for an old fashioned Johnny Walker. It's one of the whiskeys I drink the least - bought the bottle at least six years ago and it's still half full. Maybe I took pity on it. It went well with the Chacom N.5, though.

The best bottles of the entire weekend were 2 1970 magnums (coincidentally)
- a 1970 Seppelt Moyston “claret” (actually Shiraz) and a 1970 Ch Montrose (2nd photo - with tattered label from a very damp cellar)

On special offer last week I thought I'd give this French lager a trial and though not overjoyed by the experience, I wasn't regretting the purchase.

Very different from my usual bottled ales it's 5.5% but comes across as much 'lighter'....very palatable.

My adult beverages of late have been tequila when it's light out, and scotch when it's dark......

I make a sort of margarita by adding in some limeade and sip on that. Now and again I'll make it a "bitters" marg by adding just a couple drops of Angustora bitters before the limeade. Gives it a little unique twang.

Scotch - it's gotta be neat. I like Laphroaig, but it's a little pricey. Although I just LOVE it when it's rainy outside.
My regular lately has been Johnny Walker High Rye. Pleasant and very affordable.
