What Are You Drinking? May 2023

I see people reviving threads from last year to post current drinks, so I thought I’d get us up to date.

I’m having Tetley Duchess Balmoral with Half and Half while I catch up on some forum reading. I’ve been enjoying this blend the last year or two. It sort of reminds me of the milk left in the bowl after you’ve eaten the cereal. Speaking of blends, I think I’ve decided what I will be smoking in the Birthday pipe.

Last night it was Dark and Stormys made with Whaler's rum. Not a bad rum for $10.

Just having a cup of tea at the moment, but thinking about getting some drinks in for tomorrow’s coronation.
Few brown ales to start, progressing onto a stronger ale or stout, finishing with rum or whisky.

Old Gowrie in my Cavicchi bent.

Everytime I smoke this pipe, I think to myself "If I could only keep one. This would be the one."

Funny enough, old gowrie would be my companion for it if I ever had to ditch all the blends but one!

I'm drinking Whaler's rum out of my rusticated Cavicchi brandy right now, Claudio makes great pipes, I love the blast on that bent.

Kirkland Irish. This stuff is good, and made in the same distillery as Jameson, but much cheaper.

Columbus brewing Bodhi with this bowl of crinkle flake. Full flavor ipa, with a nice 8.3%abv

Having a White Claw (Strawberry) with a “Traditional” pizza (tomato sauce, aged and fresh mozzarella, fontina, pepperoni, red onion, roasted mushroom, kalamata olive, aged parmesan, pecorino romano, asiago, basil, oregano) from Moonlight Pizza near our house.

Going to have a Maker’s Mark Ten Stave Bourbon while we play Nintendo Switch Golf.

The last time we were in Rhode Island, we scored some more bottles of The Glenturret 27 Year Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Amazing pear notes. Caramel in the front, fruit in the middle. Great stuff.

Weekend Hooker from Brew Toon. A craft brewer from a fishing town on Scotlands east coast. I love the can art.

The second of my Brew Toon cans. This is nice. I am a bit sceptical of fruity beers, but this one is subtle. I like this. Also the can art is exquisite again.
