Time for my quarterly drunk.

I grabbed a bottle of Decourtet VSOP Cognac, which I've not tried before.

A $30 bottle, so no great expectations.

First impression, some nice, deeper fruit flavors on the front and a bit harsh in the back end.

Sounds perfect for my intended use! ?

I paired some Rustica with some El Dorado 15 year old rum neat and it was perfect. Not something I reach for very often.

I went with friends a few times to the London Rum festival held at Earls Court in January.They turned the heating right up to get the Caribbean vibe.There must have been a thousand people present. There were rum producers from across the world.We went to the Eldorado stand and met the head blender nice man.We all agreed the Eldorado 15 year old was the best rum we tasted that day until he got the good stuff out!

Never had a rum that you can drink neat and just sip that I like. I was truly impressed ! You could actually taste the cane without melting your face. Had great depth of flavor!

I noticed that my liquor store has the 20 year old on the shelf, I'm torn due to the price and I love the 15, it's more than double the $ ?
