What I had from Other Half is really, really, really good. Normally the other styles than IPA do not get to market here, but the IPA stuff I had from them was magnificent if you like IPA.

Other Half makes fantastic IPAs. They’ve been among our favourite breweries for the last seven years. Their distribution has gotten much wider in the last several years since they’ve opened new brewery locations on the East Coast—we used to only get their beer from Brooklyn, New York; a limited selection can be found at supermarkets in Pennsylvania these days. We took some friends visiting from Florida to the Manhattan location in Rockefeller Center recently and they loved it. Their stouts have been incredible since they collaborated with J. Wakefield (sadly, now closed) in Florida, and are well worth pursuing.

At my wine group dinner last night with an Aussie bottles only theme.
These 3 were the highlights out of 25+ bottles

The 1967 Penfolds Bin 7 is a legendary wine (Cab Sav-Shiraz) made by Max Schubert and often touted as one of THE best Aussie reds ever made, along with its stablemate, the 1962 Penfolds Bin 60A (also made by Schubert)

The McWilliams 44/66 “Sauternes” is a non-botrytised stickie. The 1944 component was made by legendary Hunter Valley winemaker Maurice O’Shea. It was “freshened up” with the 1966 component.
So good with the Portuguese egg tart

The 1975 Ch Reynella was in great form. Made from Shiraz rather than Portuguese grape varieties.

Chimay Grande Reserve & Ron Zacapa 23

It's going to be a good lunch!
The base beer of the Grande Reserve (Chimay Bleu) is my favorite trappist, i'm amazed they pour the Grande Reserve in portions as it normally comes in a 75cl bottle. Or did you order the whole bottle 🤪?

Edit; I stand corrected. The Bleu is also called Grande Reserve, I was referencing to the barrel aged versions of Grande Reserve which do only come in 75cl.
