I have not bought any alcohol yet in 2021 and finishing off the bottles from last year. So it has been the same line up last few weeks. Today I started with

1. Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask Finish- 15 yo

Don’t remember but it’s about 80$-90$

Very hot today...34c. The wife advised me as I'm a Scot not used to such a high temperature I should increase my liquid intake...so I am.

With beer brewed in the foothills of the Andes.

I finished most of my last years purchase and got some new bottles today. First up - Laphroaig Cairdeas. This is an exceptionally flavorful scotch - yet, I don’t like the first taste - It is too woody for me. I think the sweet nose, followed by the peaty taste is good, but the finish is a little woody/bitter. Maybe I will like it on drinking more, or need to add more water or ice.

Second drink - Dalwhinnie 15 yo - In my opinion quintessential highland.

Third drink- Jefferson’s Reserve Very Small Batch. I still consider myself new to bourbon, I have drank premium offerings from Jefferson’s reserve before, but this entry level offering is very good ?

Lazy man's old fashioned at the moment with New Riff bourbon and a splash of Jack Rudy's grenadine with a couple dashes of their bitters as well. Goes down nice and smooth.
