Amontillados and Palo Cortados are my favourites styles.

If you like amontillados, do try a Toro Albala. Montilla-Moriles being further inland grow Pedro Ximenes grapes which have a fuller palate than Palomino which feature in Jerez and Sanlucar.
The term “amontillado” refers to sherries becoming “like a Montilla” (in character) as they age.

Sherry are such amazing value
I’ll definitely try it if I find it. So far no Amontillados or anything with PX grapes where I live. I’ll probably grab some next time in Nashville.

I toured the Sazerac House in New Orleans last month and fell in love with the Sazerac Cocktail.

I've never been a Rye guy. I always found they had a "thinner" or lighter mouthfeel than Bourbons I like and found the spiciness overwhelming for the mouthfeel. I also have NEVER mixed whiskey, always neat for me. This was just beautiful cacophony of flavors with the anise from the Herbsaint, the Peychaud's bitters and the lemon. I've been making them since I got home!

Last night, I was drinking Bufalo Trace, wild turkey 101, and Deanston virgin oak, the latter of which has a very tasty and long barley aftertaste. Wild turkey, does not disappoint, with that power, woody and those touches of vanilla, banana, is incredible, a classic and no nonsense.
I note that you enjoyed the Wild Turkey touch of banana. Have you tried Bumbu rum?
it’s really great rum and has an unmistakable touch of banana. Try some, I am pretty sure you’ll enjoy it.
