What’s the Deal with HS Studio Pipes?

On another note, I have owned 6 Eltang pipe and over time, I have given them all away. I have never given away one of My HS Studio pipes. I have had them re-stemmed, thrown them in the garbage and ignored a few of them in my rotation but for some reason, I never sell them or give them away…and I reach for them (per capita) more often than any other line of pipes I own. For what it’s worth.

I own three of their pipes (two of which are below and still are being broken in, and the third is still packed in the original bag), and I am quite happy with the two pictured below. I removed most of the coating with paper towel soaked in alcohol and did not experience the nasty taste mentioned by others. I keep monitoring their Ebay page for interesting shapes. For the price these pipes provide a very decent experience and I plan on purchasing more of these.
