What’s a Good 9mm Pipe- Vauen, Barling or Rattray?

Well.. Not sure about 9mm pipe, but Lugr P08 Parabellum beats everything as far as look goes.

I’m considering buying a 9 mm filter pipe. Who makes a good one?
I like the look of barling trafalger model but I‘m hearing the new production models aren’t good, what do you recommend?

I like a Vauen

I love my 9mm filters. All my Vauen pipes are excellent. I have basics as well as higher end models. They all smoke well. I like my Rattray also, but don’t smoke it as much as the model I have has a smallish bowl. I also have several 9mm meerschaum pipes that are stellar.

I have not tried Savinelli or Peterson 9mm pipes, but would love to.

I have, however, modified several non-filtered and 6mm filtered pipes to accommodate 9mm filters. I’m cheap.

actually, my irish army filtered 80s is nice with a meerschaum filter, and is just as good without a filter. I think the larger internal pipe diameters are the cause of that.

Ive felt that the 6mm filter size by dr grabow was a bad choice as the 6mm causes so much alteration to volume and flow.

Interesting, my experience is that the Grabows I have are the best 6mm smokers I own.

I’m like you. Every time I see a 9mm reference, my brain immediately tracks to my Smith & Wesson, Taurus, and SigSauer.

That 1911 is a beauty. But it's not 9 mm. I do admit.45 has better stopping power

I’ve seriously been considering one.
With the 9mm draft and the Meer it makes good sense.

Agreed. My 9mm meers only get a rest in the winter. Too worried they’ll get ruined in the cold and snow.

That's a myth. I live in Canada and smoke it cold weather always.
