I'll be there from midday Thursday thru early Monday morning. Am returning to work at Warner Brothers Animation Monday for the beginning of season 2 of Be Cool Scooby Do. Anyone who wants to meet up, please PM me.
Just curious if anyone knows of any carvers or companies that will be attending that haven't been mentioned.
I did see on Instsgram that Dagner Custom Pipes has a pipe made
Specifically for the show that will debut and be on sale at their table.
Question from a first timer conventioneer: Might some of our repair guys be there? I could hand deliver a few projects if so.
And, anyone wanting to meet up, PM me!
Good question. I honestly can't recall any tables for repair shops, but it's such a big show I could have missed them. I also haven't had an eye out for them, because I don't have any briars that need repair.
I didn't see any tables featuring repair guys last year. If any of the repairmen that frequent this forum are going to be attending, maybe one of them can PM you.
Being that this is my first pipe show, can you guys let me know if vendors tend to accept cash only or do they take card as well? Normally don't like walking around with cash, but will do so if that's my only option!
Sort of a mixed bag on cash vs. card. The first year I went a lot fewer people were taking cards, last year, cards were more widely accepted. I would have a bit of cash on hand, just in case. My first year there I found a pipe I liked, but the vendor couldn't accept cards. It was a bit more cash than I had on hand, but he agreed to hold the pipe for me and I just went to an ATM in the casino and got the remainder of what I needed, simple enough.
Just a heads up, some of the carvers and vendors also sell trough SmokingPipes and sometimes will let them charge your card for the pipe if they don't have a way to at their table.
Is this the time and place to take some tobaccos I don't really like and trade? No biggie either way, but how I pack my bag will depend on the answer.
See y'all soon!
John
Also, regarding payment, at least one vendor took PayPal and I just stood at his table, logged in on my phone and sent him the money. He got the email confirming receipt a few minutes later and I walked off with my new pipe.
