I have spent a bundle with P&C and never had a problem. Same with Smoking Pipes and some other sellers. I guess I have been most fortunate.

I'm done with P&C also. I've tried twice to get the Panama Jack cob with the white stem and they keep sending me the amber stem, when they tell me the white stem cob is in stock. I've had problems with them in the past. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I'll deal with SmokingPipes from now on, never a problem with them and I get my goods faster.

My recent experience with P&C was horrible. I ordered some samplers and a pipe kit. Everything seemed to be OK, but couple days after the they charged my PP they starting running around me with " this item not in stock", "everything is ready but fulfilment department is too busy to ship it out" and finally almost 2 weeks after "we ain't got nothing in stock". So I suggested to grab the components of samplers and pipe kit, put it in the box and ship it. Yeah, right... Here is $10 for your trouble....

Next night all samplers are back in stock. I reorder. Same friggin story, but this time. "We will make an exception for you and put those samplers together".

Next thing I know everyone is getting email nnotifications that those samplers in stock....

In the end I got the baccy but not the pipe kit... So, there you go

I will have to say that the lighter they swapped for seems to be much nicer. The pipe they upgraded me to looks REALLY nice and I can't wait for it to get here.
They did me right, I can say that and the upgrade to a higher price range pipe more than makes up for the snafu. They did initially say they were shipping it USPS priority like the original shipment. However when I checked I see that its coming UPS, I can only assume so Ill have to sign for it.

P&C has a great selection and good customer service, but their shipping consistently leaves me disappointed. Nothing like getting a box full of hard to find tins that is just rattling around with virtually no packing.

P&C service has been getting sloppy over the past year, especially the shipping, I placed my last order few months ago and refuse to go back!

P&C makes it clear on their site that they do not accept smoked pipes for return. You could have saved yourself some aggravation and started with the manufacturer if there was a defect. I do not see how you can blame them for poor customer service, they simply followed the policy which is plainly stated on their website. You agreed to the rules when you purchased from them.

I was only speaking to the original issue you raised. I still stand by the reasoning that the vendor posted their return policy. Not being privy to your two other problems I couldn't address them. In your shoes, I'd probably cease doing business with them.
I will say, if a service rep can't satisfy my complaint and, I am sufficiently riled (it happens), I keep going up the chain until I've had the problem resolved or I've left a trail of disconcerted/hysterical employees. At some point the situation becomes entertaining and I am loath to let it go as I've started to enjoy myself too much.

I order most of my stuff from p&c. I only had one mishap where they forgot 2 tins and sent me two off one cob instead of one and one. They sent me everything I was missing, on their dime, including an extra cob, and let me keep the wrong one. No complaints here.

tried that, "our supervisor is not available right now". May I speak with the store owner? We don't have one in USA, only in EU.

Time to dig deeper if you feel so moved. Start looking for financials, documents, business licenses, there's always more if you are willing to put in the time. Most retail sites are a wealth of information, there have to be corporate documents on file with a state/federal government agency somewhere. Can't do legal business without a paper trail. It's simply a matter of how much time you wish to put in so as to cause a bit of devilment.
Finding owners is usually not a lot of work. Some of you give up waaaaay to early in the game. "The supervisor isn't available" is a gauntlet thrown down, a challenge to my old investigator skills. The internet makes it easy, much faster than "snail mail." And, all of the necessary info is out there somewhere.
But the easiest and usually most effective is your state's "consumer affairs" or whatever it's called. Single minded bird dogs who seem to love to inflect pain on sorry retailers.

My biggest problem with Pipes and Cigars are the many and frequent backorders. I checked my order before sending today and everything looked okay. I checked a few minutes ago and now an item shows as being backordered. This is after waiting about four months for a tin of Squadron Leader to come off of backorder. I would think when an attempting to order something that is out of stock that a warning would be shown.

I ordered few times from P&C and I had tons of problems with them. Fortunately, they solved all of the issues. They are dealing with lots of customers and I guess sometimes they mess up. I think I can forgive them for that because they are offering the cheapest prices. The good thing is their customer service is really good and they know how to handle the customers, at least 2 out of 3 know.

Yeah they rectified there mistake and have a package out to me now with the missing items. They upgraded the pipe with a much nicer one (imo), and substituted the lighter for one I would rather have had anyway. SO it all worked out, just have to wait a bit longer for the stuff. Which according to UPS will arrive tomorrow.
