I did buy an insulated set of carhartt pants and jacket last winter after changing my brake pads in December outside. So I'll give that a whirl.

@warren and others. I have a four door jeep rubicon. It literally goes where a rabbit won't. Nothing wrong with a little drive around the block to enjoy a pipe. I also like shuffling around in the snow with a pipe.

I have found a Lampe Berger to be a Godsend! I smoke year round in my home office thanks to it. I occasionally light up a cigar too (but the wife complains which sometimes makes me happy).. shhhhhh. I didn't say that :puffy:

Small room, open the window about one foot with a fan by the window blowing out.
I smoke in my home, but at times I'll air out the room that way and it works like a charm.

Either that, or smoke while taking a shower with a shit load of matches.

I have to, that is have to, smoke outside, period. My wife has the best nose in the business, as I have stated here before.
Getting ready for this winter: have warm hat, gloves, small heater, have larger heater, but afraid to run both on the same outlet in fear of blowing out breakers, have heavy duty pants, and special ordered coat for winter.
I think I am ready for the deck this year. If not, I'm heading to the car where I'll wrap up in the above clothing, get a blanket and the newspaper, book or some other reading material and sit for an hour or so.
Last year, I sat out the entire winter. I'm not doing that this time around.

I really envy you guys. I love to smoke during a chill season, but here in Brazil we have 45°C (113 F) during springtime! I simply can't light up a pipe with this temperature.

Here in Vegas there's about one week in late December where we'll get a high of 35F at the most. After that it's back to the normal 50F for most of the winter aside from one more week of around 35F in February.
I'm pretty much okay during the winter. It's the summer that kills me. Once it cracks 105F forget trying to have a pipe outside.

I rue the end of summer and early Fall. During warmer months, I smoke out on our patio. For the winter, I have a pretty cozy spot setup in my insulated garage/workshop which is interesting at first. By the time February rolls around, I feel like a prisoner.

I am fortunate enough to be able to smoke indoors so I continue on as usual. I don't smoke indoors often though in the warm weather...prefer to be outdoors. :)

I still smoke outside, unless it's freezing balls. Then I just smoke in the kitchen with the windows opened.

Funny how it goes.
I am only now beginning to think that soon it will be cool enough in the evening to want to sit on the patio and enjoy a pipe.
Thank heaven for a nice den in which to smoke inside, with the blessing of air conditioning, as the spring and summer roll along with 90 degree/80 % humidity days.
[The key? My den has an AC vent, but no return, and a nice bit of weather stripping at the base of the door. Crack the window open while smoking and all is directed outside. You may have a room in your house that is similarly configured, if you look.]

I've got similar issues. Minnesota. Fortunately we've had a beautiful warm fall so I was outside today enjoying.
I could get all dressed up for winter and survive, but I find I don't enjoy the flavor of a pipe when its that cold. Its a bummer, but a smoking hiatus is not far from me either...

Smoking season is over when the first shovel full of dirt hits me in the face.
