Did it in about 3 months... diet changes.
Did that a couple of years ago. Arthritis eased and most importantly, heart efficiency has improved 12 percent over the last year. Losing weight is rarely a bad thing although my cardiologist has suggested gaining back a few pounds. The key word is "few", no more than five.

Not sure what that means in the overall sense, Mr. Funkenhouser, Richmond B. type.

Because if you're seven feet tall and started at 515 like Brian Shaw, fifty pounds is only a drop in the bucket:

But if you started out the size of Mini-Me, there's not much of you left:

I started at around 315.

The weight loss is a positive thing, but it was really that diabetes that was the motivation.

3 months ago my my blood sugar was staying between 350-450 pretty much all the time... a couple of times it was higher than that.

In the past month it has not been over 160...

The doctor thinks she cured me with all the medicine. haha

As I've mentioned in another thread, the body tries to repair itself.

Once you have a bad case of diabetes you get sick and don't really want to eat.

Honestly, my appetite has still not fully returned.

The real test will be if I can maintain my new habits once my hunger comes back.

Congratulations !!! A few years ago I lost 85 lbs on new diabetes diet and gained back 5 or so (265ish to 188ish it fluctuates 182 +/- ).
A1C went from 12.5 to 6.8 with diet and meds, Trying to get to below 6 but I am not that disciplined.
Change in diet stays with you. 5 snack meals a day is better than 1-2 big meals; choose better quality food too.
Stick with it !!

Lost 50 pounds, A1C down to 5.5, stopped snoring and dreaming that I was under water.

Did it in about 3 months... diet changes.

It can be done. Don't let them poison you.
I didn't eat for a week while my father was on his death bed in a hospital. Lost 25 lbs. Not a good idea to lose the weight that quickly. I need to work out.

I hate to hear that you went through that.

It's hard on your body to lose weight fast like that. I've done it years ago.

I once went on an all beer diet... it wasn't healthy, but I damn sure lost a bunch of weight.

You can do it! I've got faith in you. Keeping your weight where you want actually becomes easier as time passes. In my experience anyway. Enjoying how you feel is a great motivator.
Heck yeah! Most important thing is believing in that you can do it. Mind over matter.. Reality is what you believe in. You make what is true. Don't forget that.

Good for you. Around 16 years ago, I started having cardiac stents put in, (ultimately had a triple bypass). Simply by doing that I dropped around 50 pounds. Past year, though, gained around 10 pounds back. Think that's due to late night snacking.
