I have never seen what appears to either be a black anodized stinger, or possibly vulcanite. I think Weber is a brand that is pretty specific with stinger identification. Any Weberers’ out there care to chime in?
Let it sit in an isopropyl bath overnight. Tar can get rock hard over time. That’s what I thought, but a very stiff nylon brush revealed nothing shiny. It did reveal a more hexagonal ball at the end.
Was Weber around then?I think during World War II when metal was in high demand some pipe manufacturers used other materials.
Founded the year prior to the start of the war.Was Weber around then?
I’ll have to take a look. It’s pretty oxidized.I have plenty of webers and have not seen the stinger on them. But I have seen one on like that on a WWII era yello bole. It was made of bone. I bet yours is as well. Is there a marking on the stem that says weber or just a W?
