Is this worth the hype? It sounds like a “normal” blend to me. People seem to hold it in such high regard. I’m always leery of limited stuff as a gimmick. I’m tempted on glass slipper and simplyvoriental, but to make it worth the trouble you’d almost have to buy a pound each, since it’d be too long to get a 1oz sample and go back to buy, only to see it gone.
I think it’s worth it. While it is limited in that it’s only available for a brief window twice a year, it’s not the usual small batch BS.

Rhythm and Blues as well as Rouxgaroux have replaced some McClelland blends for daily smoking.

I was going to buy another pound, but I got sidetracked and then when I remembered it 15 minutes into the sale…

No Rouxgaroux for me.

That’s OK though. I have several pounds stashed away from previous releases.

I did get a pound each of Simply Red and Rhythm and Blues a few weeks back.

Like others have said, Hype is hype. But, the big but, is that this is a tremendous blend to me. The WCC Virginia blends are my preferred and in MHO the best.
Rouxgaroux, SimplyVorential, Rhythm & Blues, Blue Ridge, Simply Orange, and Simply Red.

As long as it's one of these blends, buy a pound and I'll take what you don't want. That should make it no risk for you ;) LOL

Over many years, I've smoked the esteemed British tins, Peretti, Wilke, Drucquer, on and on. On the whole I've had the best experience with Watch City blends.

Rougaroux is eminently worth getting, IMHO. This time around I passed because I already have a couple of pounds from the last couple of releases and I don't need to buy any more tobacco.
So get it when you can next year, because if Ernie ever decides that the components he has available to him are not up to snuff, that's the end of Rougaroux. Unlike the competition, Ernie doesn't pretend to be making a popular blend by subbing out components.

I had not tried it, so to grab 8 oz was a big gamble for me, but I love almost all reds, glad I did. It’s good stuff! But I wouldn’t fret too much to miss it. There’s plenty of good stuff available you can get every day.

For those wondering if these are worth setting an alarm for, I’d suggest getting a selection of regularly available WCC blends. See if something like old dominion, 558, etc is something you enjoy and go from there. If Old Dominion was sold once a year in a numbered tin people would trip over each other to get it.
