French pipes in general tend toward smaller chambers, though check the specifications to be sure you are getting what you want. Chacom, BC, Genod, and others. I find them uniformly beyond their price points in quality.

Remember, when you want, you can get a longer smoke out of a small chamber with cuts like flake, coin, plug, and rope. They just burn slower and longer.

I was looking for the same pipe and just purchased this small Dirk Heinemann. Nice short smoke. As previously advised in this thread Smoking Pipes has a good selection.

Well, in following up my original post, I finally managed to track down - almost by accident - a nice small briar that offers between 20-30mins smoke.

It's a Morgan Bones Checkmark that I sourced from my local(ish) tobacco & pipe specialist who happen to be the UK distributor for Morgan Pipes. Link here if anyone is interested: Morgan Bones Check Mook Briar Pipe - https://www.smoke-king.co.uk/morgan-bones-check-mook-briar-pipe

It smokes well, very lightweight and actually looks ruggedly pleasing on the eye.

Highly recommended should anyone be looking for something similar 😊👍🏻

I have a Manduela so small it fits in a watch pocket. I’d post a picture but I set it down somewhere and now I can’t find the damned thing. True story.

Indeed, I'd purchased one of the Morgan Arbutus (101 if I recall) range a few weeks back. Very pleased with it, so I thought I'd try the Bones. Didn't realise it was as small as it was (about 12cm in length and 4cm outer bowl height) and the chamber is the smallest on any pipe I own.

But as I'd been searching for a small chambered pipe...voila! One right under my nose - apologies for the terrible pun 😉😁

Neat! I wonder how many of those were ultimately made? The KW Miniature was an actual line and they were available in limited quantities but I've only ever seen one other and @TheIronMonkey has it.

I think it was a one-off, and never meant for line production. The rack and the pipes it holds were presented to Alfred Dunhill at an anniversary staff party. They were made about 1959 by longtime Dunhill carver Gaston Dessertine (b. August 14, 1900 in France, d. October 8, 1991 in England). Gaston and his parents Gustave and Amilie left France and were living in London by 1911; the parents were both employed as briar pipe workers, the same trade Gaston would later follow.

Somewhere I have another photo of a similar set made by Paul Jeannin being shown by him to Alfred Sasieni.

You know, you can make one out of aluminum foil. I haven't personally tested one, but seems to be very popular around the area we used to clean as cub scout projects. Not sure what was smoked in it, but for the sake of the scouts, I hope it wasn't Velvet. We also found some nice brass casings in 9 mm and Saturday Night Specials, but seem too small for the pipe tobacco.

Or, just pack half a bowl in your currently favorite pipe. No rule stating you have to fill the pipe up all the time.
Indeed, till I found the pipe above in (post #64) I was generally doing just that.

But the Morgan Bones Checkmark is only about a 'half bowl' size...certainly compared to most of my others.

At maximum, I get about 35mins out of it. Some blends (dryer, non-aromatic) about 20mins. Ideal 😊👍🏻
