We've still got houses in our neighborhood covered in tarps from the tornado that came through last summer. They were insured.... but... in-sur-ance... compan-ies... move... as... fast... as...

Suggest to your neighbors that they file complaints with your State Dept of Insurance. They will get action, and will audit/fine insurance companies if they get enough complaints.

I know domestic guitar makers were having trouble importing wood, but I think the concern was on use of rare woods. One of the large ones got raided by armed feds, I remember reading the article but don't remember which company.

Yep, Gibson got in trouble about 9 years ago. As a result of having Taylors I seem to have a lifetime subscription to their quarterly publication - I love it, it is paper and large so fun to read (hope it never goes all digital). Point is, the Taylor guys put out a lot of interesting information about their sourcing, the challenges and the alternatives, etc. which are probably even more challenging with the bug angle.

I want to be invited to the Customs Authority Annual Auction of all the confiscated property.
They'll be blaring the Paul McCartney and Wings Over America live version of, "Hi, Hi, Hi!"

No idea what that means (;)) - but since I first heard it, "like a rabbit gonna grab it" has lived in my memory as a favorite turn of a phrase (probably relates more to the age at which I first heard it vs. it being all that clever). Side note - I had no idea what "standing with a bootleg in your hand" meant for years and years until I was at a used record store and found out, lol.

Attempted to order a Taylor's Eyewitness Hardwood Barlow from the UK. Tracking went weird and when questioned, customer service sent this reply. First I've heard of anything like this. Has anyone else? I've definitely heard of restrictions on certain species etc. If this is true, does this mean overseas pipe orders will start getting sent back?

Not sure if this is the proper category for this post. View attachment 114628

Thanks for the lead on Taylor info & publication.

In my city, palm trees are being replaced by other types of trees. But we also have a fungus that destroys other types of trees. It is amazing how fungi are so resistant and destructive. The appearance of an infected tree is as if it were charred. Becomes burnt black in color.
