I can't imagine what life would have been like if we could've gotten cigarettes shipped straight to the mail box.

Until Congress acted what, 10 or 12 years ago, I got English Ovals shipped by UPS to me all the time from the Indian Reservation sellers who were on the internet. Can't find them anywhere now. Which is all in all a good thing

I just did a quick search to see if Canada Post ships tobacco. From their website:

3.2

Tobacco

Tobacco products are non-mailable unless:
the shipment is between manufacturers or retailers, or

no payment of any kind is provided for the product by its recipient, or

the person is otherwise exempted by the regulations (at the time of writing no exemptions exist).

so private individuals can, as long as no money is changing hands. Yup, it's all gifts!

Useful heads up on this original post, and following posts. There's a lot to this. All of the delivery systems have the problem of the age of the recipient, and that is always a first line excuse if organizations decide they don't want to handle anything that is age specific. The postal system has the additional issue of gray market prescription drugs including opioids coming in from other countries, mostly Asian. The USPS has been evenhanded and non-problematical so far about tobacco pipes and tobacco; let's hope they can stay steady-as-she-goes.
