I have been watching his videos with a lot of mirth, albeit for all the wrong reasons. It's sad to see yet another narcissistic misanthrope on YouTube play victim. The so-called YTPC is filled with these kinds of absurd characters, and Alan is definitely a character, so it's hard not to view his videos in the same manner that one would watch, say, Skip Bayless: you just cannot help but wonder what goofy stuff he will come up with next.

Still, when he was focused and happy, his videos could be entertaining, and even informative. He is passionate, and I do appreciate that a lot. But now he is just another voice in the inexhaustible engine of pointless rage that is social media. If he wasn't such a misanthrope, I would feel badly for him. But he's another man who tries to gussy up his petty hatreds with religiosity and "traditionalist masculinity." I've had to deal with those kinds of people before, and one is best advised to just avoid those people and let them stew in their own confused rage. It ain't worth it.

I did laugh pretty hard when he complained that his critics don't know anything about him, though. I was like, "My brother in Christ, you told us all where you live, what you do, when you lost your virginity, etc. You cannot stop talking about yourself."

It's a bummer so many YTPC are just boring dudes ranting in front of a phone camera, but it is what it is.

I've dabbled with the idea of starting my own YT channel with the moniker "Narcissistic Misanthrope Piper". I'd essentially adopt an ultra left wing/spiritually nihilistic persona that mocks the entire "YouTube pipe community".

I still may at some point but most days I just can't be bothered to care enough.

I play blitz chess with these guys whining in the background listening to Alan and then his antagonizer both pretty Gamma male, more worried about a rook lift or a possible queen fork from my opponent. I did the entertainment thing in my younger years, your song is not everybody's cup of tea best not to let it get to you or you end up writing awful songs I think that's what happened here. Neither is genuine one video is click/sub bait the other is myopic pontificated pearl clutching. With both these Gammas under their pose is just another pose. I would much rather sit back and read the transcripts of Matches 860 when the EMP ( not early morning pipe the other one) finally hits and wipes out the whole internet entire, I'd miss this forum and chess.com though ...

Ten years ago I would have already gotten started. Trolling entire internet communities lost its appeal for me when such actions entered the mainstream lexicon.
Just sorta loses the luster.
Apathy wears like a pair of worn-in long Johns.

Edit: and nothing complements those comfy long underwear like a pipe.

Yeah I agree totally Trolling was much more fun before it became a career choice, but man it could be a fun thread secretly, I'll get right on that...some day!

I sometimes play the narcissistic snob on here, but the problem is that there is a vast majority of true narcissists that don’t see the irony or acting, and take offense to the posts. I would think this idea hilarious and would be willing to watch parodies, but I can see many people just getting pissed off.
Humor doesn’t come easy to many people.

I can't watch pipe YT for the same reason I can't listen to podcasts -- the inefficiency of the information to time ratio.
5 minutes of reading a good book leaves me with 5 minutes of information.
5 minutes of YT or podcast leaves me with 2 seconds of information.

Don't get me wrong -- I'll embrace an inefficient information-time ratio for a live relationship. There's little better than bantering with a friend over a pipe.
But neither YT nor a podcast is a live relationship. So I'll read instead.

I watch at 1.75 to 2x for that very reason.

Ok… so I watched a Youtuber, and I’m sure my brain didn’t get hurt like I thought it would. But, let me list my lowest forms of humans in the order in which I despise them the most. From lowest scumbags unworthy of wiping shit off my boots, up to those worthy of wiping shit off on them…

The worst human being is one who sees something that might piss someone else off and sends a link to said person, so that they will be properly pissed. This is a shit stirrer and if found on fire, I would not put them out, even with a rake. I’d oet them burn to ash, because their smoldering ashes would only be an improvement.
These people consider themselves fans of the things they think that they are protecting, but really they are a waste of sperm. A shitstain on humanity.

Just above these tattletale fanboy shitstains are Youtubers, pedaphiles, commies, and serial killers. Ha ha. End of list.

Wow, cosmic ..... I see I am pretty low on your scale.... hahahahahaha ALL good though. If you put yourself out there on social media, you best have thick skin, be able to accept critiques, and be very able to look in a mirror and laugh!

No comment on the current "drama" in the YTPC. Just not worth the effort...

The correct response is always to laugh and then throw a zinger back and continue the battle of wits back and forth until you run out of zingers or wits or both come to blows and even after that buy the next round. In most cases especially around full-grown men offense is only taken, never given, at the end of the day, toughen up buttercup...

I have no problem with this man’s tobacco reviews and his intro is worth the price of admission. Which is, of course… free. As in you’re free to scroll on past of you don’t find him entertaining or informative.

He did describe Pegasus as being “wrapped in a big, comfortable huuuuuuug.” — demonstrating his high-born sensibilities, and refined tastes. The phrase stays with me each and every time I light up Pegasus. — making him a legend!
