Got this in an estate lot. There was also a dragon Meershaum but unfortunately the shank was cracked.

Everything on it but the bowl is vulcanite. Likely has some internal oxidation.

Yeah, it's a show piece. I'll probably never smoke it again.

This one is an Italian pipe with a Briar bowl and Vulcanite stem.

It smokes like crap. It burns hot and takes a thousand relights, it feels awkward to clinch. But I didn't pay much for it I got 7 pipes and a pipe rack for $50 on an estate lot. It's just decorative, I'll never smoke it again. lol I dumped the bowl it was burning my mouth.

It's a horrible pipe I'm not promoting it I'm just saying its unique. I smoked it once and didn't finish the bowl it burns so hot. lol

I’ve got a couple of similar pistol pipes. Yours is in decent shape. Quite often, the hammer is snapped off the back.

I didn't know that. It's a fun pipe though, definitely not an everyday smoker. But I been collecting pipes for a while and definitely has a cool factor.

Generally speaking, these kinds of pipes were made with Gutta-percha, not Vulcanite. While sort of similar, they’re not the same.

It didn't come that way. I cleaned it up.
