I've smoked it once and it smokes terrible lol.Love them but they'd be the bane of vulcanite haters.
Everything on it but the bowl is vulcanite. Likely has some internal oxidation.I've smoked it once and it smokes terrible lol.
Yeah, it's a show piece. I'll probably never smoke it again.Everything on it but the bowl is vulcanite. Likely has some internal oxidation.
This one is an Italian pipe with a Briar bowl and Vulcanite stem.I've seen a number of them, most appear to be Bakelite, including the bowl. Yecch!
It smokes like crap. It burns hot and takes a thousand relights, it feels awkward to clinch. But I didn't pay much for it I got 7 pipes and a pipe rack for $50 on an estate lot. It's just decorative, I'll never smoke it again. lol I dumped the bowl it was burning my mouth.Isn't much in the way of even approaching an adequate design for a pipe.
It's a horrible pipe I'm not promoting it I'm just saying its unique. I smoked it once and didn't finish the bowl it burns so hot. lolWhatever it’s made of it’s a stupid idea for a pipe.
I didn't know that. It's a fun pipe though, definitely not an everyday smoker. But I been collecting pipes for a while and definitely has a cool factor.I’ve got a couple of similar pistol pipes. Yours is in decent shape. Quite often, the hammer is snapped off the back.
The vulcanite looks like it's in great shape with no tarnish at all. Keep it that way by keeping it out of the light, the worst enemy of vulcanite.
It didn't come that way. I cleaned it up.The vulcanite looks like it's in great shape with no tarnish at all. Keep it that way by keeping it out of the light, the worst enemy of vulcanite.
I gotta read up on that. That's interesting.Generally speaking, these kinds of pipes were made with Gutta-percha, not Vulcanite. While sort of similar, they’re not the same.
