To demonstrate this. Go to Google and look up any pipe thing and see how many of the first hits you get are for this site. (which I found out by reading something here and then thinking maybe I can look it up and find out more).
Exactly how I found this place. Many times I came across it while looking up things and finally decided to join

I dump on Sutliff because I don’t like their proprietary casing flavor that I taste in everything they make. I also don’t care for the blends that they make for other companies. Just because someone doesn’t like something doesn’t mean that they are uninformed or stupid.
No, but most of the dumping revolved around the belief that the only thing Sutliff made was goopers and that their leaf supply was of the lowest quality. That does qualify for ignorant and stoopid.

A blend I like but rarely see mentioned is C&D King Kake; it's a aromatic in their cellar series that has a birthday cake with nuts flavor that I find enjoyable and a good switch up to the non-aromatic tobaccos I usually smoke. I also think Mac Baren's HH Bold Kentucky doesn't get mentioned as much a their HH Dark Fired Kentucky, so by comparison it is underrated and to my palate it has a bit more of that smokey meaty flavor I'm looking for than HH DFK.

We are talking about the big sellers here, what about the few tobacconists, which still proudly present their very own blends?

Do anyone know some of them? Tom Darasz in Kiel is one of them, imho he does a good job.
I have recently praised Beck's Old Limey Bastard but I really cant stress enough this is the smoothest English Iv'e encountered that wasn't jarred 5+ years.

In terms of WOW smokes definitely had way more WOWs with BK but there was a WOW with ODF in a crusty big old cob a lot of tang with the BK, I agree it definitely needs more love.

Savinelli 140th. There’s a small population who love it (I’m one of them) and it otherwise was really overlooked the years it was available for some reason. It was released on pretty small tin quantities but you could find it available for months still. I even picked up some 2020 tins from a vendor within the past year that still had some stock.

Uhle's used to be a regular recommendation, especially for burley lovers:

Seem to have dropped off the Forum radar in recent years.

the trends of trendy pipe suckers (the kind that are born every day) are perplexing. Years ago the number of people who told me I wasn't a pipe smoker cause I smoked more then English blends and now it's something else that is the creme de la who cares of blends with those types.

One point of jargon and lingo is excluding certain people. That's what it means.
No it means to me it's weird the way certain blends get really hot for a while, well it's the people that act like those blends really are just the peak of great pipe tobacco are weird. I just find those trends funny well the people who treat those trends religiously.
Also the first times I joined pipe forums I left after running into people that would tell me I wasn't a real pipe smoker because I enjoyed variety and not just English blends.

BriarWorks Back Down South and County Lawyer. Seems no one talks about them. Very comfy blends.
Back Down South was one of my most middle of the road blends. I enjoyed but haven't felt any need to go back to it. Though one thing I found curious about it. Was how different it tasted rubbed out and full flake. I think it has something to do with how the topping was applied but I don't really know. But I have never encountered such a difference in any other blend.

Smoker’s Pride Cherry Cavendish is top quality tobacco in a 12 ounce plastic bag.

If you get embarrassed smoking dollar an ounce tobacco put it in a fancy pouch or a humidor.

There’s about a half dozen different tobaccos in this blend, and it’s delicious.

It’s like smoking cherry cotton candy.

Try some and see.

I just stumbled across this but I'd like to add the Sutliff Match Walnut. It's got a little bit of everything, including the elusive Maryland. Definitely an American English, but lots of depth and good flavors. I never got to smoke the original or any iteration other than the match but it is worthy.
I wanted to try the blend when I found out it was the only blend that my Uncle's (by marriage) father smoked. At all of the holidays/birthdays with that side of the family I would smell it and like it. I'm glad I asked my uncle about it because it lead me to this fun and tasty blend.
