Ultrasonic Cleaner For Meer?

Could dirty ebonite/acrylic stems be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath ?
The same we clean our specs in . And if so, in which fluid ?

I am unfamiliar with those. I know that my ultrasonic would pulverize the glass against the metal frames. Maybe those are designed to be less aggressive or something, which might limit how well they would remove the dirt, IMO. Maybe they just remove the grease from the glass? IDK
