Ain't this great. Here we are, all discussing a question the has puzzled mankind for centuries and our only qualifications are we can all smoke a pipe while doing it.
If you're not just playing with us, they use the decay rate of a sample then apply the calculation to a larger sample or affected area. How the hell do you measure decay when its half life is 80 million years?
Of course it's calculated and results only probable, but with those numbers how do you even start?
If they had super advanced tech I suspect they’d control our perception of them. They’d allow us to see them if they wanted, or not.Not that I believe in them but if someone had the technology to travel many lightyears to get here, how would our primitive by comparison technology be able to detect them? We're still cavemen compared to that sort of civilization.
Unless they created us in their image, then no need to hide at all.If they had super advanced tech I suspect they’d control our perception of them. They’d allow us to see them if they wanted, or not.
We still talking about intelligent creatures that live on another planet or are we talking about a deity?Unless they created us in their image, then no need to hide at all.
Isn't anything beyond our comprehension alien? Wouldn't primitive cultures consider the modern world as magic or divine? We still talking about intelligent creatures that live on another planet or are we talking about a deity?
humans can walk through walls but the splinters and headaches mean it's usually better to just walk around the walls.I bet you don't think humans can kill goats by staring at them, or walk though walls, either...
You're no fun
Or after they're long obsolete and they're not showing where they currently are in advancement. They definitely have some awesome stuff hidden deep in the labs that we won’t see until it’s ready in a few decades.
Well, like they found with the F-117, microwave ovens. Some Serbian guy rigged up a load of microwaves to run with their doors open, the stealth fighters hit them with their anti-radiation missiles thus revealing themselves, Serbians said thanks and shot one down.If they are so advanced they can travel here from other planets, then why do they keep screwing up and crashing their ships?
This question still stands:
But a question: Article stated that something had a half life of 80,000,000 years: How the hell is that measured and then calculated?
[Extra points for explaining it in under 500 works, with no links.]
Without stirring too much controversy, this book is where I land with the phenomenon...

Although you can't prove a universal negative apart from omniscience, you can rule things out in delineated quarters, and if we start with the PM Secret Santa thread, we're off to a start... ;-)The belief in intelligent life anywhere in the Universe is still speculative.
