After seeing this thread on trying to find the "wow" factors in tobaccos, I realize that this factor is what it takes for a tobacco to be a cellar staple. I noticed I own about 30 blends but haven't smoked many of them more than a handful of times before just sitting on the shelf. The tobaccos I consider staples are ones I will be buying over and over again and hope to never run out of.

Until recently, my only staple was Sillem's Black. I recently tried PS English Oriental Supreme and Sutliff Aromatic English and these might be getting the "staple" designation but I’ll need to give the a few more smokes before deciding.

What are the staples in your cellar?

These are the blends that I have stocked up on to varying degrees:

Capstan Blue
PS Luxury Navy Flake
SG Full Virginia Flake
McClelland Christmas Cheer
McClelland Frog Morton's Cellar
GLP Westminster
GLP Quiet Nights
H&H White Knight
Dunhill Nightcap
Country Squire Shepherd's Pie
Straus Sleepy Hollow
Various burley blends (half of which are Russ Oulette blends like Angler's Dream and the Midtown series, and the other half are OTC codger blends)

I have a closet that is my Red Cake closet. When I got word that McClellands was on it's deathbed, I drove around four states picking up everything I could of 5100. It's funny though, now that I am set, I don't smoke it as much. But, maybe once it gets a few more years... Sometimes it's not just that I want something, but that I am keeping others from getting it that makes me the most happy. puffy
