Ah... I thought it might just have been me. The advice to email the site owner about the problem is also somewhat unhelpful.

Honestly, STG having so much control is probably the worst thing that's ever happened to our glorious hobby. At this point, It would be nice if they got out of the pipe tobacco world all together. We need all aspects of the hobby controlled by passionate pipe smokers who love the community and every decision should be rooted in "does this make the hobby awesome and better.”

I agree that completely. Same problem is everywhere. Actually, I think, we need the create new and big attempts from by the community. Not by the anyone. Because like these facts is everywhere and if we don't have a big noise community, this companys do the whatever they want.

The disappointment for me rests with everything becoming U.S. centric. We can't order from the U.S., we can't view things any more from the U.S.
I understand that the market appears at least on face value to be largely in America but I do find this a very disappointing turn of events, seems like information is only going to be available to a select few which is not what smoking a pipe is all about. Yes we have reviews else where but we no longer have access to the old reviews and what tobaccos may or may not be used in current iterations and Tobacco reviews was the last bastion of this information. Maybe America is truly becoming insular, won't be long and you will all be staring at your own navels.

If I am reading this right though its not the site admins doing this it higher up the food chain. Seems like Govt intervention at server level or beyond which is quite alarming. So much for "free speech" meh
You think Trump issued an order to block tobacco pipes for the outside world?
I'm sure it was STG, US government has nothing to do with this.

If the Admins don't have an answer or the Developers then its beyond the site where the restrictions lay. There are a lot of actions taken by Governments that the leaders have no sight on. To suggest Trump signed a presidential order to block us is rediculous at best

The United States has a variety of federal and state laws that regulate data, including the Privacy Act of 1974, HIPAA, and COPPA.

Federal laws
  • Privacy Act of 1974: Protects personal information collected by the federal government

  • HIPAA: Sets standards for how healthcare providers can use patients' health data

  • COPPA: Protects children under 13 by requiring parental consent before collecting their data

  • Federal Trade Commission Act: Gives the FTC the power to enforce privacy and data protection regulation

You're being naive my friend, I have no axe to grind with the U.S. ....................yet!
Well, if you genuinely don't understand the issue, then my advice is to Google GDPR and how any company, even outside the EU, has to adhere to it when handling EU customers' data.
