Tobaccoreview Not Accessible From Outside the US?

Just noticed this morning that I need to connect through a US server to access tobaccoreviews.com. Otherwise i have this: Does anyone also need to use a VPN to access TR?

Well damn...that is new. I used it a few days ago.

My Norton includes a slow vpn. It works if I set it to the US.

Tested and I'm now getting the block message. Is TR not disappearing with Sutliff et al?

In response to your post, I just tried to access tobaccoreviews.com, and was also unable to connect. I got a similar message, but it did not say anything specific about must use a US server. Just that I was blocked.

There are a few other tobacco based sites you cant get from outside the US. I cant remember which ones.

They said they would keep it, but that it would require some maintenance. That’s probably what’s happening

Maintenence doesnt require blocking non US IP addressses. Im not even going to pretent I have any understanding of international tobacco regulations but I see no reason for the block. If you dont have a vpn you are likely screwed. That said, its only a half decent site to begin with. Jim resides here anyway. Most of the other reviews are hit and miss.

I get the same message, as well as for cupojoes and tobaccopipes. I’m trying to look from Mexico, so I originally thought it was due to my location, now i wonder if this is to do with STG

Im pretty sure it has to do with STG but it also has to do with them limiting location via IP address for some legal reason. Maybe it doesnt conform to international standards. Perhaps they will update those standards, perhaps not. Time will tell.

STG is going to care more about potential law suits via standard regulations vs joeblow.com

Im sure they have people waiting in line to sue them for something.

I can access now. There are some nations blocking access to tobacco related sites so it might depend where are you located. Using VPN you should be able to connect to.

This stuff always begins so simply. A block here, import regs there, throw in a tariff or two and
