That has always been my understanding as well. The reason cigarette smokers inhale is so that they can maximise the area of absortion for nicotine, from mere square centimetres in the mouth to ~75 square metres in the lungs/alveoli. Taste is a secondary consideration, if any.I’ve never been a cigarette smoker and hope never to be, but don’t most people smoke cigarettes for the fix and not the taste? Do those here who smoked cigarettes before taking to the pipe consume them differently now? Please excuse any assumptive tone of this reply.
