Its very small, like really small, but awesome.I looked at some pics on google - it looks like an amazing place!
Makes me think as well: sitting outside in a smoking area the beginning of May - is it do-able? I'm still trying to figure out how to prepare temperature wise. But then again, I smoke in the door of my shed in the Canadian winter, down to -10C.Choice here isn't the best. I second Miss Morans as it's a great shop with good selections, I've had family members from the north bring me tobacco from there all the time.
In terms of Dublin itself, as the others said, Peterson store is a must visit, JJ Fox is alright. Fox has some of their own nice blends like Banker's so maybe pick up a tin or two (be prepared for the price). I'm also a big fan of Benson ans Hedges Ready Rubbed, you can get that anywhere here that sells pipe tobacco.
If you're looking for a nice pub to sit in and smoke your pipe, hit up Toners on Baggot Street. Absolutely massive smoking area out the back, pipe and cigar friendly!
I could go on all day about recommendations for what to do here because it really is a great place. Enjoy your trip!
JJ fox is geared towards alchohol for sure. London is much nicer. Now the house cigars that they have in Dublin and London are pretty good. I try to pick up a few each time I'm there.Took my own tobacco to Ireland - enjoyed it in the evenings outside at the rental cottages we stayed in. Peterson shop great. JJ Fox Dublin is alcohol centric IMO and crowded, and I wasn’t impressed, nothing like the fine old shop in London, but most shops pale by comparison.
Definitely do-able! The place is definitely warming up now and it will probably get hotter in May. Once it isn't raining you should be all good. But remember to ALWAYS bring a jacket out with you in Ireland. No matter what the weather forecast is, because you will get caught in a surprise rain out of nowhereMakes me think as well: sitting outside in a smoking area the beginning of May - is it do-able? Its a beautiful 9c this morning in Dublin with a high of 12c.Makes me think as well: sitting outside in a smoking area the beginning of May - is it do-able? LOL, I think almost every single day for the two weeks we were in Ireland the forecast was 90% rain and the actual weather almost every single day was beautiful! We were there in early to mid-June two years ago - Dublin to Roundstone to Killarney back around to Dublin. It rained quite a bit the first day, mostly while driving, spit some rain occasionally after that, but we had incredible weather. Mostly it was on the cool to warm side so I had a very light waterproof jacket on or with me all the time I was out but I just laughed when I'd check the forecast - reminded me of visiting my parents in Palm Springs years ago - forecast was the same every day - sunny and 80.Definitely do-able! Haha it's almost impossible to predict what it's gonna be like. I've stopped checking the forecast since it's always a gambleLOL, I think almost every single day for the two weeks we were in Ireland the forecast was 90% rain and the actual weather almost every single day was beautiful!
