Churchmans, Players and Will's Woodbines I am informed use to produce the bulk of the cigarette cards back in the day before WW2. I seem to recall that Players No:6 used to have a coupon in the packet that you could save up to buy stuff from their catalogue - the joke was that 200 coupons got you an iron lung! I sort of remember as a kid aged about 5 or 6 that you could trade these in the playground for other cards. Then we all discovered Bazooka Joe and lost interest in the planes, trains, famous cross dressers of the British Empire and other stuff on the Players cards and became enamored by all the 'American' guff.
