Tobacco Blend of your Dreams

Imagine having access to any type of tobacco leaf that exists or disappeared from the market. What would be your dream tobacco blend if there would be no restrictions regarding availability and cost? Let's make this an exercise of creativity, please, with no shaming or bashing of personal taste. Some might prefer bright leaf, 1865 vintage, cased with unicorn tears and pressed between gold bars, and some might like Captain Black Grape blended with G & H Coconut twist. And that is absolutely fine as all taste is subjective.
My dream blend would be LJ Perreti Tashkent with Syrian Latakia and maybe a little cigar leaf for extra body. Don't know if the combination would work but would be very interested to try it.

Not to belabor the point, but I'm smoking up the last two bowls of a tin of Dark Star that about fills the bill, at least for a Virginia to this old burley head. It's Virginias darkened by oven and age, and hand grated by me to smoke evenly. Nat Sherman 536, another discontinued tobacco, a refined English blend with burley, is another. I am aging an unopened tin of that. So for the creativity part, it would be the Nat Sherman blend done with Dark Star for the Virginia and Semois Tabac-Manil for the burley. How's that? And maybe a pinch of C&D cigar leaf.

Fun idea! I think I would really like to try a base of Blackwoods Flake, with some Izmir, a little Perique, and the tiniest bit of Latakia. I have all these components available, but since I only have one tin of Blackwoods, I won’t let myself adulterate it for the sake of an experiment. Well, maybe once haha!

These blenders know what they are doing so I leave the hefty lifting to them. I have never messed with blends like so many people do. I think it is a waste of good tobacco, as a blender knows the right percentages how long to age which blends and for how long.

I also think it is disrespectful to the original blender. Imagine if some quack like us went into the Coke factory and started messing with their blends, same thing in my book. Call ne old fashioned in this way, I go with the guy who brought me, not a guy cheapening his blend . That is just me, I understand peoples desire to mess with peoples blend but it is not for me.

I would settle for a humble and simple, Mixture Scottish Blend/Flake from mac baren or a Capstan Blue Flake. And a 500-liter barrel of Torres 5 brandy.

Having access and understanding some of the house sauce recipes would fantastic.

Much respect for your point of view, most of the blenders have an understanding and exposure to tobacco that a layman, me as an example, will never have. I do think that mixing together even existing blends is beneficial, as it stimulates evolution and can broaden the horizon. I would venture to say that blenders do that often and probably some successful results are marketed t the public. We are quite lucky to have such broad tobacco offerings at the moment.

I'm pretty content with the tobacco blends that we have. If we're going to dream about imaginary blends, it would have to be aromatics that smell and actually taste like what they are flavored with. Can you imagine lighting up a bowl of crispy bacon and having it smoke like tobacco but taste and smell like it came right off the griddle? Or German smoked prosciutto? Imagine an after dinner dark chocolate that offer a deep, rich dark chocolate taste or a lunch time smoke that tastes like real Chicago deep dish pizza! Or a fruit blend that tastes like the fruit its supposed to flavored with. And before anyone says ""Try ....... blend! It taste just like it!" - just no. None of the cherry blends on the market even come close to tasting like cherry.

Many of the late Steve Books’ House of Calabash blends would qualify for me. Actually, quite a few modern day Wilke and Watch Ciry blends also qualify as “dream blends” for me.

Mine would be a MacBaren HH Oriental. A hot pressed, stick of gum flake highlighting an Oriental or Oriental blend.

My other wish would be Chelsea Morning in flake form. It's whole leaf, pressed and then sliced and broken up. I want it in flake, dammit, now.

My third dream blend would be Old Gowrie, but available in a 5 gallon bucket.

Never had the chance to try the Nat Sherman pipe tobacco even that I visited the store on several occasions to buy and smoke cigars. Most likely a high quality product.
