Hello, Happy Saturday! (Or Friday/Sunday depending on location) I am a fairely new pipe smoker and was curious to people's opinion for a pipe I recently purchased. I paid a hefty dollar for it and am genuinly excited for my first estate pipe! 
Thoughts on this Comoy Blue Riband 110?

The metal inner sleeve is absolutely a feature of the Blue Riband line and reinforced tenon.
From my perspective, this is a wonderful rendition of the classic billiard and I wouldn't have any qualms about the tenon. I don't have a Blue Riband but since I started looking at pipes, these are amongst the most highly regarded. Enjoy!
The metal sleeve IS typical, one of those little quality touches that Comoy gave it's best grades.

What’s your opinion on dating by “ Reinforced at the push”. I had a few conversations with some big collectors. The common theory was the patent was filed for a fact in 1938. However it’s stated that they did not implement it until 1940 or so. It ran for only a few years until ww2 1945 or so...

Comoy had a line of pipes with a stinger, this isn't that. With their better quality pipes they added a metal tenon reinforcement.

Page 59 of Neill Archer Roan's "Comoy's Blue Riband" book
The "Grand Slam" line had the screw-in stinger with replaceable leather filter washer. With the stinger, they don't smoke well, removed, the draw is too open for my taste (much like Sasienis and their patent era stinger)
The Blue Riband was, for a time, Comoy's top of the line pipe. The name Blue Riband was borrowed from the unofficial award given to the passenger liner with the fastest Atlantic crossing in any given year.
Wow.. I am learning so much in this forum. A fantastic start to a Saturday, learning more about the hobby! Thank you everyone for the information. The seller mentioned that the pipe is from around 50's to 70's, adding to the notion that Comoy still produced metal reinforced tenon's well after WW2, despite metal shortages in the nation.
If I saw that pipe from across a crowded room I would know it was a Comoy's because of that beautiful distinctive grain pattern and coloration. Congratulations on acquiring a fine estate pipe! I hope that it proves to be a good companion to you.

As a fan of British pipes, it looks beautiful to me. Classic billiard, excellent grain, I think you'll be very happy with this in your collection. Great score!
