The metal sleeve IS typical, one of those little quality touches that Comoy gave it's best grades.Looks fantastic. Those with more knowledge will chime in. It looks like the tenon was repaired. I don’t believe a metal sleeve is typical. If that is true, it’s a nice repair and sturdy. Enjoy it!
Comoy had a line of pipes with a stinger, this isn't that. With their better quality pipes they added a metal tenon reinforcement.’m not positive, but I don’t think Comoy’s ever had a stinger, but I could be mistaken.
