I actually don’t like recliners…I know I know I’m a mad man! I love my couch :). But if I were still married I’d be perfectly ok having a nice garage setup. There’s something just nice and pleasing getting away from the wife and kids lol

Whats the story with the framed Mando pic?
We went to Disney World with the kids and my son Dan is a huge Star Wars fan (more so than me). To the point he paints (customize's) action figures and sells them on eBay. Mainly Clone Troopers as those are his favorites. While at Epcot Center there was an artist exposition and this artist was their. This is print No. 4 of 150 prints. Titled "I've Got Your Back." We spoke with the artist for a bit and had her sign it. She also drew on the logo for Boba Fett and Mando. She signed it "To Daniel and Bryan - For the old school and the new school." (Kind of hard to make out in the pic). As Boba Fett and I represent the old school and Mando and my son represent the new school. I had it mailed home where I framed it with the certificate of authenticity, a matching post card and matching business card. QR code goes to artist website. Artist is Tricia Buchanan-Benson.

Anybody like coming home after a long day, sitting in the nice recliner, loading up the same old pipe, and watching TV for hours? When the pipe is done, you empty it and fill it again to keep the experience going? Some days it’s what I really need, a few hours with a codger blend and a good movie.
I want a lounge in my house where I could smoke because this really is every smokers dream. A comfortable place to enjoy a bowl and relax. I'm out on the porch right now freezing. I want to sit back in a recliner next to a fire, watch tv and just relax smoking. My absolute dream. One day I'll build a lounge, when I can afford it. It's going to be Bliss. Congratulations to you my friend, I'm glad to hear you have such an Oasis, I bet you enjoy that quite a bit

The key to happiness is moderation. Start with one small bowl of 1Q during the late game or movie. Families will gradually get accustomed to it and before you know it you’ll be puffing what you want when you want to.

My "smoking lounge" is a 15x15 heated room in the back of my shop with leather couch and 2 leather chairs/ottomans. A big glass table in the middle and small TV with Roku. It is also the place where i store my wine in a wall-mounted rack and in several boxes, cigars in a large tower-style humidor i build nearly 20 years ago and shelves which store both my open jars and open whisky stash. About 50 or so of each open an any given time. Once i finished and furnished this room, i find the time spent in the house has gotten less and less over the last 5 or so years.

I was really lucky when I lived in my apartment last year. They’re a smoke friendly complex, so I could smoke whenever I wanted inside. I spent a ton of time watching movies and reading while smoking (I went through about a year long phase where Quiet Nights was my favorite tobacco…still right up there). I’m in the middle of buying a house right now and I worked out a deal with my partner where I can smoke in the basement as long as I get one of those air purifiers. I’m excited to not smoke in my car anymore!

I’m retired and I spend to much time smoking a pipe in my chair watching TV. I’ll always have 2, 3 or even 4 pipes at hand along with a selection of lighters and tampers from the collection. I commented in a thread awhile ago that a comfortable chair is my most important pipe accessory.
might be in the market for a new chair soon. Something that can rock and has power mechanics

I like to smoke at home in my nice chair next to the air cleaner I have a couple feet away. My nice cozy spot to smoke. I also like to smoke in my Honda CRV; it even has a little pocket to set my pipe in when it gets hot and the smoke is over. My story: I had a meeting in Prestonberg and spent about an hour before the meeting smoking in the car. It was back in the fall before it was cold. Great smoke and I went to the meeting feeling great. I also love smoking on the porch with my gal. The only time I don't smoke is when I travel. I always worry a little that my tobacco pouch will leave some scent in the room even though I didn't smoke indoors.

When my wife went to the hospital before she could come home I needed a good, comfortable chair so she could.

I’ve learned over a lifetime that any product Sam’s Club sells is hard to beat.

This $550 chair plus a $50 fan blowing on it has been where my wife spends most of her day, for the last four or five months.

Don’t forget the fan.

That Sam’s chair is extremely comfortable and solid and weighs a hundred pounds. It has no gimmicks. It works. It ought to last for years and $550 buys another.

I wondered how I’d get it home, and these come in a big 100 pound square box. The box is completely full of chair parts. They assemble in a few minutes with no tools other than in the assembly package. It’s made of steel and kiln dried hardwood and thick full grain leather. How they sell them for $550 is one of the mysteries.

The fan is remote controlled and quiet beyond description.

Each day she’s more able to get out of it and move around, but I bought the closest to the hospital room chair I could and I’m extremely glad I did.

We cuss all those big box retailers, until we have to buy something quick that we need, and don’t merely want.:)

She can add blankets and heating pads and such, but she loves her big chair exactly as it is.

It’s very easy to get in and out of.

I enjoy these discussions about where we smoke and what we sit in, etc, etc, etc.... But it always boils down to whether we can smoke inside or not. For reasons of marital peace, I smoke outside and while I have a few "semi" comfortable outside smoking chairs, I cannot entertain the idea of a nice, plush recliner like I have in the den.

I shall not complain, however, as many have it worse......

My first proper chair was a big leather BarcaLounger that I enjoyed while we raised our boys. Many great memories in that chair watching TV especially Vikings football smoking my pipe with a kid in my lap cheering for Randy Moss. I had it rebuilt after about ten years. When the mechanism broke again we went with a big leather Stickley Morris Chair. I love the heirloom quality and that the arms are like having side tables.
I spend a lot of time in SoAZ and when my recliner here failed I replaced it with a leather Stressless Magic Chair. Definitely not heirloom quality but it slightly rocks and with the system foot rest is very comfortable. I love the matching computer table that tucks in the round chair base. I spend way to much time here but I love that like back in lax I have my pipe stuff at hand.

Dave, I keep coming back to look at your set up for relaxation. I really like that chair and it looks very adjustable. At 6'7' I have to get my recliners in an extra tall size. How adjustable is that chair for height and leg length?

I really enjoy sitting in chairs talking to other people sitting in chairs. The human race is fascinated with chairs. We call leaders chairs, they chair comittees. We attach motors and horses to chairs calling them chariots, cars and carriages. We even execute prisoners and have them sit in a chair or lie on a bed which is really just a horizontal chair. We makes rules about using chairs, when to push them in, when to pull them out. We help others into their chairs as grand romantic gestures. We even interrogate suspects and put them in a chair with a light over them so they can see the chair. So of course a smoking chair just comes naturally to us. The amazing chair.

It has been so long since an internet post has been this illuminating for me. Thank you sir.
