I never worry about those. Some of my favorite estates, I have left the marks. I don't ever clench hard enough to leave them myself, but having them on the bit doesn't bother me. YMMV

Try this trick...
Slide a pipe cleaner through the stem and run just the bit under the hottest water coming out of your tap.
I have found this is an easy way to reduce the impressions with little to no work.
