I have nothing against tattoos. My wife's grandpa was a navy commander who fought in WWII and Korea (he was also a pipe smoker) and he had a couple of tattoos - as navy tradition dictates.
I also disagree when it comes to TV. There are many good shows to watch. I like/have liked House, Dexter, Mad Men, The West Wing, 30 Rock, Sopranos etc. I actually think this decade has been a golden time for TV.
When it comes to ads I agree 100%.

airport security....what idiot decided that you can take 3 packs of matches on a plane, but not 4?
Or we will body cavity search every passenger, but forget about checking all the packages that get loaded from a nearby warehouse in the belly of the plane. :(

I absolutely hate it when they televise what is supposed to be a political debate and it turns out to be nothing more than a shouting match with the loudest participant being declared the winner. As if volume proved the point. Or even worse, scripted questions and answers. You get the same campaign trail propaganda disguised as cogent argument. That will send me running for the aspirin bottle every time.
Say what you will about public broadcasting but I heard a wonderful Oxford style debate on NPR a couple of weeks ago. Both sides were able to express their opposing views in an intelligent and logical manner and I didn't feel as if I was was being talked down to. They assumed the listener had intellect enough to understand what was being said. And the studio audience determined who won the debate. It was great.

StrongIrish and I are in the same boat.
The latest political slant on the news. No matter what station, local or national, I watch. I know that their lying to me,....I know it and they know it.

Gives me a headache to no end.
And while I'm at it....three no-neck, washed up, former jocks in two thousand dollar suits, sittin' at a desk talking about freakin' football ALL DAY LONG!

Agreed! And while we're at it, can we just do away with all sports interviews by people with IQ's lower than their jersey number? Do you really want to give air time to dolts who are so simple, they will just be bankrupt 5 years after leaving the league?

I work in a liquor store. A student was hired last summer and now he's filling in for the Christmas season. Within minutes of our first meeting yesterday, I see the kid holding a bottle of wine and chatting with a customer. I paused for a moment and watched him stop his conversation with the elderly lady and turn the wine bottle upside down. He curiously peered through the base of the bottle for what seemed like a minute and almost put it to his eye like a looking glass. I wondered what was the matter so I sidled up and asked if I could be of any help. He looks at me and asks, "If a wine has a screw cap, is there still a cork inside?" Seeing that he was so earnest, I had to simply answer and walk away.
I learned earlier today that the same guy once walked away from his register with the till wide open to go get somebody a box - leaving a full lineup waiting with open access to his cash.

At the employee parking lot for pilots at my home airport, there are spots reserved for handicap. (?)
The drive up ATM machines have buttons with Braille. (?)
At a multi level parking garage at another airport that connects to the terminal, upon exit form the elevator a sign with an arrow pointing to:

"Pedestrian Walkway"
Oh, it just doesn't stop.........

Vegans. I was at the grocery store today. The guy in line ahead of me had to ask the cashier if just about everyother item he was buying had meat or any "animal product in it".... 55 minutes later I got to check out.

I agree drew! Of all the things to throw your belief or support behind, Veganism just seems like one of sillist. From time to time I'll find a Vegan message board and leave a Veal recipe of the day on it just for fun.

Insurance......what a concept. Companies making profits year after year, century after century, based on the model that they profit on their customers misfortunes. Continually brainwashing them that they are "in good hands", and "like a good neighbor", must be protected. Now with their 2 Billion dollars a year they spend on lobbying on Capital Hill, they are now forcing the public to buy their product by enacting laws that have everyone who drives or owns a house to have it. meanwhile they spend enormous amounts of money on a corporate level on lavish perks for their enjoyment.....I use to play in bands with some of upper mgmt, Who told all kinds of stories about their trips to Vegas "meetings" they attended yearly.
